Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.
I walked to Whole Foods early this morning to pick up a few fresh cut flowers. Fresh cut flowers always make everything better, right? They do for me anyways. My mom and I have pretty constantly had fresh flowers placed around our house for the last few years. It’s one of my favorite things, to wake up on a day off, and see them first thing. It’s also nice to start every day off with something good. It’s a nice reminder that no matter what happens during the day, I know I’ll come home to something pretty.
We haven’t had peonies around for a while so that’s what came home with me. They were actually completely closed when I bought them but within the 5 hours I’ve had them at home, they’ve opened beautifully 🙂
Otherwise this morning has consisted of doing absolutely nothing. Re-watching Grey’s Anatomy, had some tea, ate some macaroni and cheese, did NOT wear a bra or pants after I got home, and edited photos and videos. It’s like my perfect morning. It’s a pretty glorious day so far. And I’m going to do a lot of this over the summer.
However, there are a lot of projects I need to accomplish over the summer, including:
- Cleaning out old clothes, school stuff, products that I don’t need anymore
- Clearing out stuff from the backyard, make space for new things 🙂
- Re-organize books and movies so they’re all easier to find
- Re-decorate my office/guest bedroom
- Figure out what to do with the rest of my dad’s stuff
It should all be therapeutic. But half of that is also going to be annoying which I’m not looking forward to. Some of those days are not going to be good days. But If I start every day with something good, then at least I’ll have that.
For now, I’m going to watch more Grey’s and admire my peonies and eat some snacks.
